Energy Tools 101 – Creating a Safe Space

The last week I have taken a lot of time for myself. Unlike many others, I did NOT intensify my marketing and sales efforts. Instead, I ordered some art supplies and started painting again. Meanwhile, I see even more good in this “corona crisis” (also read here). One of them is the chance to integrate new awareness. This is vital and often overlooked. And integration requires a period of stillness.  This morning, phase of integration phase was over, and I woke up not only much earlier than usual but also with way more energy than before! So, it’s time to share some of it with you and start the Energy Tools 101 series. And we will start with one of the most basic tools – The Safe Space.

Creating a new “tool-kit” 

The Energy Tools 101 series will feature some (very) essential personal energy management tools which you can easily integrate into your life. It doesn’t matter where you are, how old you are, what your background is or anything else. Energy doesn’t care. And this is vital to know. Because very often, I witness people assigning some intelligence to energy. But energy doesn’t have intelligence. Not a single bit! Energy responds 1:1 to your level of consciousness. Not your beliefs, your consciousness (aka awareness). It’s a big difference!

Following this series, you will start creating a new “tool-kit.” And over time, you will start seeing changes in your life. These changes can reach from more ease, better health, and less stress to even better flows of abundance. Just give it a try!

The Safe Space

Energy Tools 101 - Creating the Safe SpaceAs change can be fearful at it’s essential to know how to create a safe space. People having experience with meditation might know this already. However, there are still many people who don’t know meditation or don’t believe in it. Nevertheless, you can make use of the “safe space.” And you should!

First of all, the safe space is not a physical place but a place inside YOURSELF. And, it’s the knowing that nothing can ever happen to you while you are there. You might, however, feel more comfortable to start this exercise being in your favorite physical place. So, if you are at home right now (most likely in “corona times”), have a look around and choose a space that feels most comfortable to you. It could be a favorite chair, the couch, even your bed. It doesn’t matter what it is; it only matters how you feel about it.

Go there, sit or lie down, close your eyes, and take a couple of deep breaths. It’s important to breathe deeply so that your body and mind relax. Also, when breathing deeply and consciously you go beyond the mind. You’ll find that the safe space is just there.

The Importance of Choice

And now comes something so easy that it will baffle you. In the beginning, you might not even believe it works because it’s sound almost ridiculous. Ready? Here we go: CHOOSE TO BE IN A SAFE SPACE!  CHOOSE TO BE SAFE NO MATTER WHAT! That’s it! Choose it. Period. And done! Don’t question it, don’t doubt it. Know it works. It really does. What might come across are your beliefs. Like: It can’t be that easy? Or: What if I am just 40% safe? Or something like that. Don’t push them aside, acknowledge they exist, and let them go. We have been conditioned to believe that life is hard and that you have to fight for everything. And it’s this fight that leads to a rather poor personal energy management we can witness in so many places.

Practice!

I recommend that you practice this little exercise a couple of times daily. Choose to be in the safe space over and over again until it doesn’t feel “strange” anymore. When you are totally new to this, please use a place you feel comfortable in and then dare to do it in other place. You might practice in other parts of your flat. After a while you might try it outside. And later maybe even in a supermarket (a lot of very weird energies there lately). Also, create the safe space whenever you feel uncertainty or doubt. It’s also helpful if you feel waves of anxiety. These days especially, many sensitive people feel a lot of anxiety. That is because there is a lot of anxiety everywhere now, and they pick it up. Maybe you are one of them. I certainly am.
